Fresh amber weather warnings have been issued for other parts of the UK as the cold snap intensifies
Two new yellow weather warnings for snow and ice in Greater Manchester have been issued by the Met Office.
The yellow snow and ice warnings over the weekend also extend to parts of Scotland, North West England, North East England, the East Midlands, the West Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber. "These accumulations likely to begin melting with the onset of rain, although, during this transition freezing rain is possible giving icy conditions, mainly over higher ground. In the north, where the band of precipitation becomes slow-moving, similar accumulations are expected although this will not melt, with lying snow remaining through Sunday."
