'Changeable' conditions are expected in the coming weeks

Temperatures are set to increase in Nottinghamshire this week after a cold snap, according to the Met Office. Forecasts show highs of 9C across the next six days, with conditions expected to be largely dry.

Tomorrow a band of rain is predicted, however, it will become drier and brighter later in the afternoon, with temperatures expected to peak at 7C. The East Midlands outlook from Thursday to Saturday reads: "Mainly dry and sunny Thursday and Friday, perhaps the odd shower for Lincolnshire. "Frosty each morning. Cloudy with rain at first Saturday, clearing to a mostly dry day." In the long term, the Met Office has refused to rule out chances of another cold snap for the UK amid reports that a 'Snow Bomb' could be on the way.

However, its long range weather forecast from February 7 to 21 says temperatures overall will be "near normal". "During the period, generally changeable weather conditions are expected across the UK," it says. "Settled and dry weather conditions are expected in the south at first, while unsettled, wetter and windy weather conditions will be more persistent across the north. Temperatures overall will be near normal, but colder with possible overnight frost at first."
