Mercifully, Notts should escape the worst of it

Britain is expected to reach hot temperatures again in the next few weeks. According to the Met Office, late July and early August will see more dry weather and sunny spells in the south east but Nottinghamshire looks to be escaping the highest temperatures as the forecast remains relatively normal for the next fortnight.

Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31, will see peaks of 25C for Nottingham. Although there is sunshine for the first week of August, it will also be cloudy and is expected to stay in the low 20Cs for the hottest points of the day, with lowest points at about 13C. Rain is also expected on Monday, August 1 and Wednesday, August 3. Although this is subject to change due to the long-term forecast.

However, weather for the south of England is expected to reach the mid 30s. According to WXCHARTS forecasts, the south will see temperatures around 34C by the last weekend of July and the first days of August the south will see temperatures around 34C, reports The Daily Express. Earlier this week on Tuesday, July 19, the UK broke its highest temperature record as Coningsby, Lincolnshire, reached 40.3C. Nottinghamshire was almost as hot with peak temperatures of 40.1C being recorded in the county, and 39.8C being recorded for the city itself.
