A motorist has been rushed to hospital with 'head injuries' following an early morning crash in Rossendale.
Emergency services were called to the A682 in Rawtenstall at 1.25am today . It followed reports that a Mercedes car had collided with a lorry which was stationary in a layby. In a statement on Facebook, Rossendale Police said: "** ROAD CLOSURE ** Good morning all, please be aware the A682 at Rawtenstall, Rossendale is currently closed due to a Road Traffic Collision, between New Hall Hey Road and St Mary's Way.A police spokesperson told LancsLive: "We were called at 1.25am today to a report of a road traffic collision. Officers attended and found that a Mercedes car had collided with a lorry which was stationary in a layby.
