Nottingham parents are beginning the year in the best possible way - by welcoming their babies. Maternity departments across the city had no time off to celebrate the arrival of 2023, instead helping with the arrival of baby boys and girls.
Among them is Isla, who was born at 13 minutes past midnight on New Year's Day at Nottingham City Hospital. Parents, Stacey Frisby and Tom Riley, said the experience had been great. "We were expecting her on 28th December but she held on for a bit longer," Tom told Nottinghamshire Live. "It's been great overall, we came in at 20 to midnight so it happened quick. The midwives were great.
