Fast food giant McDonald's has put forward plans to take over a long abandoned shopping unit in Southport.
According to documents submitted to Sefton Council as part of a planning application for change of use, numerous attempts have been made over the years to secure a tenant for the shop, including a recent attempt to have a tanning salon open at the site. However all the bids have proved unsuccessful, the Local Democracy Service reports.
