Le Tissier was a standout performer for United last term as the Reds secured Champions League qualification for the first time in their history
Manchester United defender Maya Le Tissier says getting the opportunity to represent the Reds in the UEFA Women's Champions League is "what dreams are made of".
"I’m so excited," she told the MEN. "We obviously did everything we could last season and fell just short so we want to go one further this season."To be in the Champions League is what dreams are made of. I can’t wait to walk out to the Champions League anthem and to be a part of this team." "It was a really good experience for me and makes me hungry to want to improve and hopefully be a part of the squads to come."
Reflecting on England's 2-1 victory over the South Americans, Le Tissier added: "I’m buzzing for the girls. I’m so happy for them - especially for Alessia [Russo] getting on the scoresheet. It was a massive win and I’m really happy they’re through. England are taking on co-hosts Australia in the semi-finals on Wednesday and, while the Matildas could prove to be the Lionesses' most challenging opponent to date, Le Tissier is confident Wiegman's side have what it takes to get the job done.
