Maura gives a classic ponytail a twist with pearls 😍
When Taylor Swift wrote the song Bejeweled, we wonder if she had Maura Higgins’ latest ponytail in mind. The Love Island star is proving pearls might just be a girl’s best friend with a statement braided ponytail featuring dozens of applique pearls.
“Ditched Curls For Pearls @maurahiggins,” Carl captioned the Reel, adding: “Secured in place with @colorwowhair cult favourite hairspray & finished with Extra Mist-cle shine spray.” This pearl pony is an extension of this summer’s Y2K hair gem trend, which saw plenty of celebs like Laura Whitmore and Alicia Keys stick diamanté detailing on their hair for a festival-ready look. Maura’s pearls make the look more modern, though, and the plain white of them makes them wearable on all hair colours.
“Look, how fun! I’m going to a festival,” she says in the clip, before using a kid’s toy known as “The Blinger” to stamp tiny crystals into her blonde waves.
