Massive explosion hits Russian city Belgorod leaving 65ft crater and 'flinging cars on roof'
A MASSIVE explosion blew a 65ft crater in the Russian city of Belgorod tonight - just 25 miles from the border with Ukraine.
Witnesses said they heard a whistling noise - like a bomb dropped from a plane - before a blast erupted in a residential; street beside blocks of flats.A car was launched on the roof of a nearby grocery shopGovernor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov said: "An explosion took place. According to preliminary information, there are no victims."
The force of the explosion was so great that a car was launched onto the roof of a nearby grocery store.The explosion happened less than a mile from a power station, which some sources allege could have been the intended target of the device.
