The man appeared to take aim at the building before running off
but his face covering was removed a short distance away as seen by CCTV. No one was believed to be injured in the attack as police have launched an appeal, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Detective Superintendent Neil Jones, of South Manchester District, said: “Firstly, I want to speak directly to the community in and around the Wilmslow Road area. We appreciate how concerned you must be but we want to reassure you that we believe that this was a targeted attack. “It’s imperative that we identify and locate this man as soon as possible. Our primary aim is to protect the communities within the Greater Manchester and as such, firearms discharges will not be tolerated.
"We are now appealing to members of the public who might have witnessed something or might have information that could aid our investigation to please come forwards and share it with us.
