The money-saving expert has issued some words of caution for those looking to switch bank accounts
Martin Lewis has issued a warning for anyone tempted by the cash bonuses at other banks for switching accounts.
Mr Lewis said: "Well you don't have a credit rating, you are credit scored individually by each firm. But evidence of longevity of a bank account tends to be good for your credit scoring. He then explained which banks are currently paying customers to switch accounts. He highlighted HSBC which is offering £200, NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland who are offering £200 plus up to £36 a year cashback, and first direct which is offering £175 cash plus 7 per cent saver with a £250 overdraft.
