Marketa Vondrousova has become Wimbledon’s first unseeded champion in women’s singles history with victory over Ons Jabeur in Saturday’s final.

Both players were looking to register the first major title of their careers but it is Czech world No.42 Vondrousova who came out on top to lift her maiden Grand Slam trophy. ‘Tennis is crazy!’ Vondrousova said in her on-court interview. ‘I don’t know how I’ve done it. The comebacks are not easy you never know what to expect. I was hoping I could comeback to this level and now I am here.
