Latest Nottingham Forest news as Reds reflect on summer transfer window and victory over Chelsea
There would have been a few raised eyebrows if, at the start of the summer, you had said Brennan Johnson would be sold but the Reds would still have a good window. Arguably, even despite the loss of Johnson, Forest have a stronger squad now than they did at the end of last season.
On the back of Saturday’s victory at Chelsea, a video of owner Evangelos Marinakis talking about the club resurfaced. It was from a few years ago, but the sentiment still rings true. Today’s open letter from Marinakis to supporters only reiterates his point. He talks of “the relentless pursuit of some of the best talent in world football” with regards to the club’s summer transfer business. He sets out how he wants to “reestablish Nottingham Forest as a dominant force in English football”.
