These areas of Glasgow could be underwater by 2030.
An interactive map has revealed which parts of Glasgow and its surroundings could be underwater in just seven years.
Climate Central has created a map charting the rise of sea levels and coastal flooding to predict which areas of the UK could end up below water level. While the maps are based on large global datasets and 'always include some error', they are used to identify which areas may be more at risk of sea levels rising. In Glasgow, the map shows that much of the riverside by the Clyde could end up underwater by 2030, starting at Scotstoun then edging west through Yoker and towards Clydebank.
On the other side of the Clyde, the city centre looks relatively safe but the map suggests that much of Braehead, including the shopping centre and XSite, could be underwater in seven years. Much of the Renfrew and Inchinnan area around both the White Cart Water and Black Cart Water looks to be affected too.Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
