Edith Crosbie reached the huge milestone on August 6
A Manchester-born woman who recalls stories of living through the 'blitz and blackouts' has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Malvin was surrounded in celebration by her son Paul, grandchildren Claire and Lauren, and her great-grandchildren Mia, Joshua, George, Harry and Freddie. She got a card from the King and was showered with cards, cake, gifts and flowers."My nana is an incredible woman and it was such an amazing day to celebrate her and her long life.
She added: "Nana always loved pop quizzes - she'd make a great phone a friend! She also enjoyed a glass of wine and cooking. Mal also baked our family favourites of scones and lemon drizzle cakes." Malvin married Stan Crosbie in 1948 and moved to Sheringham Drive, in Swinton, welcoming their only child Paul who was born in 1851. The family moved to Arlington Road in Stretford in 1957 where they enjoyed many happy years there. Sadly, Stan died at the age of 83 in January 1989.
