Manchester United icon Roy Keane listed the issues that manager Erik ten Hag needs to fix at the club after the team's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur
Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane gave a damning verdict of his former team's problems after their weekend defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Keane accused United of being easy to play through and not presenting enough of a challenge to Spurs in possession. The midfield trio of Casemiro, Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes has proved an issue in the first two games, while the lack of pressing from the front three only heaps more pressure on United’s backline.
Keane was less than impressed with Rashford as a central striker. Ten Hag’s hand has been somewhat forced when it comes to United’s lack of fit centre forwards. Plenty of excitement surrounds Rasmus Hojlund but he is recovering from a back problem, while a fit-again Anthony Martial came off the bench against Spurs to make his first appearance for several months.
"When I look at Mount and Fernandes, out of possession they look like schoolboys! They haven't got the physicality to get the ball back.”
