Man United signing a back-up goalkeeper is unlikely to pique the fans' interest but it is the transfer they need to make

Manchester United have a clear priority in the remainder of this transfer window and it isn't a back-up goalkeeper.

Currently, Dean Henderson remains at Old Trafford despite being on borrowed time. Ever since his antics at the beginning of last season, when he joined Nottingham Forest on loan, the Englishman's future at the club has been on thin ice. The Reds' current back-up will only be allowed to leave once a replacement is on the books, whether that is Bayindir or not. So while a reserve 'keeper is not the move that fans will have been hoping for in the closing stages of the window, it could be vital to the overall shape of this squad.
