Mason Greenwood has been arrested on suspicion of breaching bail, nine months after he was first held over the alleged rape and assault of a young woman.
The Manchester United forward was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault in January after images and videos were posted online.
The 21-year-old, who has made one appearance for England, was also questioned on suspicion of making threats to kill. He has been on bail since the incident and has been suspended from playing or training with Manchester United until former notice. A police spokesperson said: “Greater Manchester Police are aware of an allegation regarding a 21-year-old man breaching his bail conditions and an arrest has been made on Saturday 15 October 2022.Mr Greenwood lost his sponsorship deal with Nike following his arrest at the start of the year and was also removed from active squads on Electronic Arts’ Fifa 22 game.
