Rasmus Hojlund could start at the heart of Erik ten Hag's strongest front-three when Man United face Sheffield United on Saturday.
Saturday night's trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United will mark the beginning of a big period for Manchester United and manager Erik ten Hag.
In United's defence, though they have shot themselves in the foot on countless occasions already this season, they have had to contend with an unprecedented injury crisis, particularly in defence. As soon as Ten Hag has recovered one player, another took that man's place in the treatment room. As well as some members of the injured brigade being set to return, Antony could bag his first start for the first time since returning to the squad at the very end of September. He stepped off the bench in the second half of the meetings with Galatasaray and Brentford prior to the break, meaning he could be in a strong enough position to be reinstated to the starting line-up in South Yorkshire.
Hojlund, so far, has notched three goals in United colours, all of which have been very different finishes. For two of them, though, Rashford was the provider, teeing him up against Bayern Munich for his first United goal and for his first of his two goals in the 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray earlier this month.
If Hojlund is to get the service he needs, however, Antony is going to have to be much more directive and creative. One of the Brazilian's biggest flaws is trying to do one trick too many, slowing proceedings down and failing to pick out men inside the penalty area. He needs to raise his game to make Ten Hag's preferred front-three work.
