Manchester United are considering a U-turn on reintegrating Mason Greenwood into the first-team squad.
Having failed to communicate their decision on Greenwood's future before the start of the season - a deadline imposed by figures at United - the emergence of the club's plans to bring Greenwood back into the fold sparked outrage among several supporters. Greater Manchester Police announced on February 2 that charges against Greenwood, 21, had been dropped. Greenwood had been charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault. He always denied all allegations.
United have been receiving data from Greenwood's training sessions as he continues to train away from the club. The forward has not returned to United’s Carrington training complex since the charges were dropped.
