CCTV captured the moment Steve Middleton, 50, grabbed one of the youths by the shirt as they ran away from a property on the Gold Coast, Australia.
Four men were seen in the video trying to escape and fight off Steve, who were attempting to ‘go through’ cars parked outside. Steve told the Gold Cost Bulletin: ‘I woke up and saw someone going through the car through the curtains. I just assumed it was my daughter’s partner. ‘Then I saw another head pop up on the other side, going through the other car. I was like “Oh s***, we’re being robbed”.One of the others tried hitting him with a bat during the attempted robbery.Steve Middleton was naked when he noticed the four youths trying to ‘go through’ his car ‘The other old mate was swinging at me with a baseball bat, so I was just using this little fella as my shield.
