Manchester City are inundated with international talent, a number having returned from World Cup heartbreak

Manchester City welcome the return of their star-studded roster back to the Academy stadium after a tremendous Women's World Cup campaign.

Although it ended in hurt and heartbreak, Chloe Kelly, Lauren Hemp, Ellie Roebuck, Esme Morgan, Laura Coombs and Alex Greenwood returned to club duty with smiles all around, minus some bruising on the eye of centre-half Greenwood after taking aafter a ridiculously successful run out in a Matilda's shirt. Although losing 3-1 to England in the semi-finals and then falling short against Sweden in a 2-0 loss, ending their World Cup in fourth place, she is back and ready to roll.

But the show must go on, and after a well-earned rest, all are back in action ready to roll for the season ahead which kicks off in less than four weeks' time. City have drawn an away fixture at West Ham on October 1.Lioness Hemp had a brilliant World Cup campaign and returns to City with a smile
