Stuart McGeachie, 38, was assaulted outside a premises on Farmeloan Road before making his way to a nearby flat where he was pronounced dead.
A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a dad who was killed during a mass disturbance in Rutherglen last month.
Stuart McGeachie, 38, was found seriously injured outside a premises on Farmeloan Road, near the junction with Victoria Street at around 7pm on Tuesday, October 24.Police launched a murder investigation following the incident and have now confirmed that a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with death. Officers have also said they are keen to speak to a group of youths who may have been in the area on Tuesday a few times throughout the day.
Stuart's family paid tribute to him through Police Scotland. They said: “We are devastated at the loss of Stuart, he was a much-loved son, father and brother who will be greatly missed. "As a family, we ask for privacy at this time in order that we can process events and support each other.” Detective Chief Inspector John Morrison said: “Our thoughts remain with Stuart’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”
