BREAKING: Man arrested at Manchester Airport after brawl breaks out at music festival
A man has been arrested after a brawl broke out beside a stage at a music festival at the Barton Aerodrome.
Police launched an investigation following the 'disorder'. In an update issued this morning, they said a man was arrested in connection with the incident at Manchester Airport last night.The man, aged 22, is now in custody being questioned on suspicion of assault and money laundering. Enquiries are ongoing.
Barton Aerodrome said that the five people who received injuries, not thought to be life-threatening, were treated at the scene by on-site medical staff before being taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary. They also said that the attempted robbery was carried out by a man who quickly fled the scene and that police were called out to the incident on Saturday.
"Five attendees of the event received injuries which are not life-threatening and were initially treated by on site medical staff before being transported to Manchester Royal Infirmary under local policy. Greater Manchester Police attended site and are currently carrying out an investigation to identify the perpetrator."
