Violence Reduction Unit officers were based in the Ferguslie Park area of Paisley on Saturday night when they attempted to pull over a vehicle.
The driver initially stopped, but then fled the scene.Cops eventually traced a 35-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle, various other traffic offences and for possession of controlled drugs.
