UPDATE: A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after the death of a 78-year-old woman in a crash in Telford.
Emergency services were called to the A442, north of Wellington at 3.46pm on Sunday following a two-car collision
Fire, police and ambulance staff including a Midlands Air Ambulance rushed to the scene of the collision where a white BMW 2 Series and a red Hyundai i30 had collided.The driver of the BMW, a 19-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains under investigation by police.
“A woman was found to have suffered critical injuries in the collision and sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.
