The incident has been referred to Greater Manchester Police's Professional Standards Branch due 'previous contact'
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a woman earlier today . Police were called to an address on Hyde Road in Manchester at around 11:20am to 'concerns for the welfare of a woman.'
GMP said that due to 'previous contact', and 'in line with normal procedure', the incident has been referred to the force's professional standards branch. Detective Superintendent Helen Critchley, from the force's Major Incident Team, said: “Firstly, I want to send my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the woman who sadly died today. We have specialist officers in place to ensure they are being updated and supported as we enter the early stages of the investigation.
