Traffic delays are expected
Major roadworks are taking place on one of Nottingham city centre’s busiest roads. Pictures taken by Nottinghamshire Live on Sunday show the extent of the works to replace a gas pipe.
Work was scheduled from Saturday, October 15, to Sunday, October 16, as engineers from Cadent - which manages the East Midlands’ local gas network - work under the pedestrian crossing in the middle of London Road, opposite the entrance to Station Street. All roads remain open in all directions, but a number of lanes have been closed to traffic. This may lead to a build-up of traffic in the local area, according to Cadent. There should be no interruption to gas supply during this or any other phase of the works.
