The Edinburgh City Bypass was closed Eastbound at Lothian Burn for just under an hour while the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service worked to extinguish the blaze.
A major Scots road was closed after a car burst into flames this morning. Emergency services rushed to Edinburgh City Bypass around 9.26am on Sunday to reports of a car on fire.
Photographs from the scene show a red vehicle at the side of the road engulfed in flames. Drivers were warned to avoid the area after the road closed Eastbound at Lothian Burn.
