Drivers are being asked to avoid the area
The A59 Northway in Maghull is currently closed southbound following a crash near to Switch Island. Merseyside Police Contact Centre said Dover Road is also closed while emergency services work at the scene.
Drivers are being asked avoid the area and find an alternative route. Traffic monitoring site Inrix said queuing traffic is currently reported in the area between Hall Lane and Liverpool Road South.Inrix said: "Queueing traffic due to overturned vehicle on A59 Northway Southbound between Hall Lane and Liverpool Road South."
Photos taken at the scene show an overturned car outside Lidl, which is next to the Alt Park pub. The nature of any injuries is currently unclear.
