BREAKING: Fire service statement

Emergency services have blocked off a street in Bury following a flat blaze.

A number of crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene, along with Greater Manchester Police officers. Tennyson Avenue in Bury has been blocked off due to the incident. A witness said crews were responding to a house fire. A GMFRS spokesperson said: "At approximately 11.15pm on Saturday, 6Passengers' fury as Ryanair flight to Manchester delayed by 25 HOURS

“Fire engines from Bury, Whitefield and Broughton stations quickly attended the scene. The fire involves a first floor flat. “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using hose reels and other specialist equipment to extinguish the fire, and remain in attendance at this time.”"The firefighters are breaking into the house. There's three police vehicles and three fire engines in the street."
