Police have closed several roads in the area and an incident response unit is on the scene.
Calder Street has been closed to traffic in both directions following the serious incident which unfolded around 6pm.
An eyewitness told Glasgow Live that at least 20 police officers are on the scene as well as eight police cars, six police motorcycles, three ambulances, an incident response unit, and at least one fire engine.A police cordon has been put in place covering part of the pavement beside the road.A spokesperson added: "Road closures are in place following a road traffic collision around 6pm in the Calder Street area of Glasgow.
"Roads currently closed are Calder Street, Allison Street and Cathcart Road. Officers are in attendance and members of the public are advised to avoid the area.” A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council said: "Calder Street closed to all traffic between Hollybrook Street and Aikenhead Road due to a serious road traffic accident.
