Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister was facing a three-match ban after being sent off for a foul on Bournemouth's Ryan Christie on his home debut
Alexis Mac Allister has seen his red card picked up in Liverpool's 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday overturned.
After a check from VAR Paul Tierney, who was reviewing the video footage at Stockley Park, Mac Allister was sent off on his home debut following his £35m switch from Brighton & Hove Albion. It was Liverpool's first red card for 12 months. An FA statement read: "An independent Regulatory Commission has removed Alexis Mac Allister's three-match suspension following a claim of wrongful dismissal. The Liverpool midfielder was sent off for serious foul play during their Premier League game against Bournemouth on Saturday, 19 August.
Speaking on Saturday as regards Mac Allister's red card, Reds boss Klopp said: "I saw it back, I think the amount of times I’ve been asked about it shows we’re discussing it. In the game, I asked Macca and he said, ‘I touched him but not really’, that was all he told me. After the game, I saw it and if you have a list of points of what we need to give a red card, for what we need for contact, no other box is ticked in that moment.
