There is congestion back to junction 9 on M60
The M61 has been closed due to a crash with miles of traffic forming in the area.
The incident took place on the northbound carriageway at junction two at around 7.30 this morning . All traffic has been held on the carriageway.As a result, there is miles of traffic in the area with congestion back to junction nine of M60. There is also traffic building on M62 back to junction 11. Traffic is also slowing on the southbound carriageway as motorists are slowing to look at the incident.
Traffic monitoring website, IRNIX, said: "M61 Northbound closed, long delays due to accident at J2 . Congestion to The M60 J9 .Also causing traffic to fall on to the M62 Eastbound down to J11 .This is an ongoing incident. For the latest updates, scroll down.
