The fire service is on the scene
There are 40-minute delays and lanes closed on the M1 this morning due to a vehicle fire in Northamptonshire. The M1 Southbound from J17 M45 to J16 A4500 is congested leading back to J18 .
Lanes one, two and three are closed causing severe traffic issues in the area, according to travel provider Inrix. Highways England has confirmed the fire service is on scene and dealing with the incident. Traffic Officers are also at the incident while there are six miles of congestion causing 40-minute delays above standard travel time According to Google Maps, the traffic stretches back through Watford Gap services all the way to Crick.southbound between J17 and J16 due to a vehicle fire.
