Emmerdale's Lydia Dingle is in for a shock when she heads to a recruitment fair to which is being held at The Hide, as she bumps into a man from her past who is happy to see her
The Dingle family have always struggled financially, but as the cost of living crisis continues to cripple the family, they are looking for any extra cash.She works many hours trying to keep the huge house clean, but due to her financial difficulties, Lydia is after more hours.
During Wednesday, 16 August's episode, Lydia asked Kim for more hours, but she was shot down, and her request was refused.Her husband, Sam, is unhappy at the situation, but Lydia heads to the event anyway. However, when she gets to the fair, which is being held at The Hide, she is left feeling awkward when Kim arrives.The pair haven't seen each other since being in the children's home, but despite Lydia's shock, Craig is delighted to have bumped into Lydia.Elsewhere in the village, it is a big day for Dan Spencer as he faces his sentencing for manslaughter.
Before heading to court, he takes in his last few hours in the village, and things get very real for him as he sees the Woolpack for the last time.When he arrives at court, Dan's solicitor reiterates to him that he should get a short sentence. Following on from that, Dan braces himself for what's to come, but the reality of what he has done starts to hit home.Back in the village, Mary Goskirk is cagey about her date that she had the night before.The drama doesn't end there for the Goskirk family, as Mary and Rhona grill Marlon Dingle to get back behind the wheel for the first time following his stroke.
