The Bleachers welcome Lowland League side Bo'ness United in the second round on Saturday

And the midfielder hopes he can prove influential again as Luncarty go for glory in the second round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday afternoon.

“I would probably say I’m playing the best football since I’ve been at Luncarty,” Green explained to the PA. McCrindle’s men endured a tough start to the East of Scotland League’s Premier Division campaign but have won their last two games to shift off the bottom.“It was difficult at the start of the season but, on the back of two wins, there is no reason we can’t get a result on Saturday if we play the way we know we can.“I don’t think anybody expected us to get as far as we have. If we can get onto the next round, that would be massive but the most important thing is this Saturday.

“This is my first time playing in the Scottish Cup but it is not just a big game for the players, it is massive for the club, the fans, the committee. “I wouldn’t want to keep the excitement levels down because we don’t know when we will have this opportunity again,” he said this week. “We had the opportunity to have a good two hour session on Saturday with a lot of good work done,” McCrindle explained.
