Lucy Letby inquiry to be given statutory powers to force NHS managers to give evidence

Health Secretary Steve Barclay made the decision to order a full public inquiry after recently meeting the families of the victims

The Government confirmed the inquiry would have legal powers to compel witnesses, including current and former staff of the hospital, to give evidence. Mr Barclay said: “The crimes committed by Lucy Letby are truly harrowing, and my thoughts remain with the families of her victims.
