The 160-year-old mill is a legend of the M61
It has been used as an industrial mill, a chicken farm, a car garage, and perhaps most famously a retail centre. It currently houses offices for a multi-billion pound international firm which chose the mill as its headquarters.
But another change beckons in the future. Start up offices and storage units will be spread over four floors. Expect everything luxury cars and stock for small businesses to be stored inside the rentable units. Huge sums of money are being invested into the plans by owners FI Real Estate Management Ltd - which is owned by Leyland born self-made millionaire Tim Knowles. LancsLive was invited inside the firm's Botany Bay HQ to learn more about the development plans and given a helicopter view of the site from above.
