Longest-surviving heart transplant patient in UK reunites with surgeon who performed operation 40 years ago
Sandy Law had her first heart transplant in 1982, and 40 years on she is now the longest-surviving heart transplant patient in the UK.
To mark the anniversary, Mrs Law, who lives in Newcastle but spends much of her time touring Europe in a motorhome, has been reunited with some of the team who looked after her, including the surgeon who performed her operation.
