Ms McCarter said as well as the closing parade - which involves hundreds of local school children and members of community groups from across the region - and fireworks, about 100 drones will take part in a display above the River Foyle. It's the biggest night of the year in the city and brings in thousands of people - the vast majority of both young and old are in costume and fancy dress.
