In what is a positive development from crews in Surrey, the blaze at Hankley Common is no longer a"major incident", according to the fire service.Fire boats have been dispatched to Thamesmead in east London to help tackle the grassfire there.is in Hindhead, Surrey, close to the blaze at Hankley Common, and sent this report earlier.

But after that one was put out, emergency services did warn that with more warm weather ahead and tinder-dry conditions, something like this could well be reignited again. However... some homes are being evacuated. We spoke to a local resident earlier today and he said that... property nearby had already started evacuating about an hour or so ago, and other neighbours remain on standby, ready to leave if they have to.

In the meantime, emergency services are urging people in the area to stay inside, to close windows and doors and keep pets indoors as well, to stay safe while they work on tackling this blaze. Police officers are here as well. Roadblocks are in place to keep people safe.London Fire Brigade say the incident in Enfield is"under control".
