NHS Blood and Transplant has triggered an amber alert
Blood donations are currently at a critically low level. , which came into force on Wednesday October 12.
Where to give blood? There are 25 main donor centres in England including one in Nottingham. The city centre site is located on Trinity Square and is open Monday to Friday every week and alternate Sundays. Donors will need to have suitable veins, which will bed checked before you donate, and meet all donor eligibility criteria, which will also be checked.
You also can't donate if you have tested positive for HIV, have had an organ transplant, are a hepatitis B carrier or are a hepatitis C carrier.
