🔴 New polling from YouGov showed Liz Truss’s net favourability score plunged to -70 following her decision to sack Kwasi Kwarteng as Chancellor last Friday

, as the Prime Minister continues to haemorrhage support just weeks into the top job.

Just 14 per cent of the public said they had a favourable impression of the Prime Minister in a YouGov survey conducted between 1-2 October, handing her a net favourability score of-59. Mrs May’s popularity dropped to its lowest point a week before she announced her resignation in May 2019, when a YouGov survey showed her net favourability rating was -49.

Support for Mr Cameron during his time in office dropped to its lowest point during the height of austerity in April 2012. He resigned three months later on the day of the Brexit result in July 2016. While his decision to call ahas seen his popularity slump since leaving office, Mr Cameron was never wildly unpopular while in Number 10.

Ms Truss’s unpopularity also outperforms that of former Labour prime minister Tony Blair during the height of the cash for honours scandal.
