Jurgen Klopp and a member of the Liverpool playing squad are due to face the press on Wednesday for the first time since Saturday's VAR controversy
The fallout from Liverpool’s controversial defeat to Tottenham Hotspur rumbles on, and won’t be stopping anytime soon.
The Reds also discovered that an appeal lodged over Curtis Jones' red card was unsuccessful, meaning he will miss the next three Premier League games. Consequently, there has been a cloud of uncertainty hanging over the Reds, with plenty of distractions continuing off the pitch. But Liverpool must now stop licking their wounds and turn their attention back to matters on the pitch.
But while such a briefing traditionally looks ahead to the forthcoming match, it seems inevitable that this ongoing VAR debacle will be the main talking point when Klopp starts to answer questions. Meanwhile, with no Liverpool players stopping in the mixed zone at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Wednesday’s press conference will act as the first time the dressing room have had their own chance to comment beyond immediate post-match interviews on the final whistle and carefully-worded social media posts.
