Schools have gone on strike across Leeds today, leaving many parents wondering if they can get time off of work for their children.
According to Citizen's Advice, you do have the right to take time off of work to deal with certain circumstances. However, this time off may not necessarily be paid, this will depend on your workplace policy.According to the Trade Union Congress , you have the statutory right to take time off as a working parent to deal with a domestic emergency. Again, the TUC says your employer may or may not pay you for this time.
