Latest with the M6 still shut
A tweet posted by the North West Motorway Police said: "Due to ongoing police incident - M6 northbound between junction 20 and 21 is currently closed, Diversions are being put in place, Please try and avoid the area."
A further tweet added: "**UPDATE** M6 Northbound between junction 20 and 21 is still closed and likely to remian closed for at least another 2 hours, Diverion routes are in place at junction 20 - please try and avoid the area if possible."
