Stop-start traffic is reported
Lane one of two is currently closed on the exit slip road, and the lane had been closed on the motorway itself as well but reopened shortly after 1pm. Motorists are being warned of 25 minute delays.
According to the traffic monitoring site Inrix : "Stop-start traffic for eight miles and lane closed on exit slip road due to recovery work and earlier car fire on M1 Northbound at J28 A38 . Congestion to J26 . Travel time is 20 minutes. Lane one is closed on the exit slip road from the Northbound M1 onto the A38 above.
