Five-year-old Max Knight passed away on Monday night after suffering severe burns covering 90 percent of his body.
An infant boy has died from severe burns sustained during a tragic accident on Father’s Day.When the five-year-old’s father Harley Knight went to refuel the miniature motorbike, a fire is reported to have broken out, possibly due to the temperature of the engine.
Max sustained burns covering 90 percent of his body while his father suffered burns on his face, chest and arms. The young boy was subsequently airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital, where emergency workers were sadly unable to save his life. His grandfather, Tennocy Knight, told local press: ‘Max was a good little kid. He lived life to the fullest, like his father.‘It’s been a really tough day for us and we are just trying to cope with the loss.Harley meanwhile was taken to Toowomba Hospital for medical treatment before being taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Tennocy added that Harley has since been placed into a coma in order to stabilise his condition for surgery. At this point, Tennocy says, Harley does not know his son has passed away.
