🎤 Local rapper Longusto releases new album celebrating his Lincoln roots. Check out 'Distinctive Type of Lincolnite' on streaming platforms
A rapper who grew up in North Hykeham and Lincoln listening to artists such as Wu-Tang Clan and Dr Dre has released his latest album called 'Distinctive type of Lincolnite' which pays homage to his upbringing.
While the Brit Pop era dominated the music scene with bands like Oasis, Pulp, and The Verve, Ben found himself heavily influenced by indie music, particularly the vocals. During his 15-year stay in Brighton, Ben created four solo projects, performing live, and collaborating with rappers and producers. This included his first album 'Back in the Bad Books' in 2007, and 'Too Big To Play' which includes a song inspired by his previous job at a call centre.
It also features a song called 'Old Father Time' featuring Scizzahz, a song about "growing up and being unable to outrun time - a theme which resonates with us all." This particular track has a music video which was filmed in Bristol after Longusto was approached by a producer.
